I had put on a coat of primer but was not happy with it so I first sanded, then I put another skim coat of body filler, then I sanded more, then I put on a guide coat primer and then I smartened up. I went out and bought a $36 orbital sander. Then I sanded more and now I'm satisfied. If I had only had this orbital at the beginning of the whole thing.
